The overall hierarchy of viewership across all technologies, along with increasing content convergence, continue to show a strong positive relationship with screen size, with viewers demonstrating a preference to watch content on the largest screen available.

Behind the lens – an insight into the inspiration for a photographer

Check out this lovely little film by LonelyLeap which sought to capture a glimpse of the inspiration that drives the work of photographer Chris Burkard. Chris is currently a staff photographer for Surfer Magazine and lives on the central coast of California. The film captures Chris’s take on his personal craft of photography and how he finds it difficult but ultimately so important to share his work. Chris believes in the importance of surrounding himself with people and places that make him want to work creatively.

Influencers

INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment.

The film attempts to understand the essence of influence, what makes a person influential without taking a statistical or metric approach.

Written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture.

First David Jones Live Stream is great success

The e-commerce / online retail space is going through a period of intense change as consumers elect to purchase online instead of physically in store. Retailers have had to adapt to this rapidly changing business model to reflect this consumer behaviour.

Social media and video leads the way in helping retailers connect with consumers.

At Viocorp, we’re integrating on-demand video solutions into shopping catalogues for companies like Supre and Matt Blatt

Last night, in conjunction with digital agency Visual Jazz we did the first live stream for David Jones into their Facebook account.

The live stream went direct into Facebook and was delivered cross-platform into web, mobile and tbalet.
Below are some screen grabs of me watching the live stream on my iPad, iphone and browser.

Results
Over 7000 streams were recorded during the hour, long live stream.

Here is the on-demand highlights clip for the fashionistas out there

Koyaanisqatsi in 5 minutes

Oft quoted in people’s top ten films of all time, the Qatsi trilogy are also quite divisive. After all there is no dialogue for the entirety of the films.

I love them and have watched Koyaanisqatsi many times. I find it quite meditative as well as inspiring.

In 2000, I witnessed the composer Phillip Glass conduct an orchestra playing the soundtrack at The Sydney Opera House, with the film projected behind them. A magical night.

Saw this clip on Vimeo last week of the film speeded up to 5 minutes, with the amazing Art of Noise track Debussy used as the soundtrack, with vocals from John Hurt.

If you haven’t seen the film, watch the film and just think about how it would translate at normal speed.
