A graduation short film by two Israeli students, Sight, has thrown a new light on the potential of augmented reality (AR), Google Glasses style interactivity, and the intrusion of mobile apps into daily human experiences.

The film, shot by Eran May-raz and Daniel Lazo, tells the story of a man who uses all of these technologies, including an AR dating app called Wingman, to navigate his way through a date.

There are disastrous consequences for the central character, and it does get a bit weird at the end of the clip.
As a precursor of what’s to come in the future digital world, its either scary or exciting. As brands increasingly turn to AR mobile apps as part of their experential marketing, expect more interesting digital narratives to emerge.

And those AR experiences could come from all sorts of brands.
